Local Magazine Goes Big Tech with a Small Town Twist

Small town living just got a shot in the arm with a local real estate Media/News/Publishing company, LifeandHomes. When the pandemic all but shut down it’s print magazine distribution in grocery stores & businesses, the real estate and lifestyle publication pivoted to bring big tech solutions to the real estate industry’s often overlooked small towns of upstate New York.

During the pandemic LifeandHomes experienced a surge in interest from buyers from the bigger cities who were seeking safe investments and a simpler life in smaller outlying towns. They were looking for everything from apartments and commercial property to single family homes and land. Real estate agents and brokers were also seeking new and creative ways to promote their properties and their services digitally while supporting local businesses.

Rising to the call, today LifeandHomes announced the release and expansion of its new, mobile-friendly, local real estate search site LifeandHomes.com. The new site features large photos, social-media enabled listings, local business directories and a friendly local team that cares about the community. The site features all listing types from from houses to rentals, land and commercial and embraces non-traditional listings as well, so local real estate agents have more resources.

With the website reboot, real estate agents get a set of new tools from their new digital magazine to web and social media marketing, to digital flyers, postcards and property syndication to other websites and expanded property information. The company is also committed to being an early adopter of new technology to ensure small towns can leverage the latest innovations even before the bigger cities have it available to them. One of those local technologies LifeandHomes is experimenting with allows real estate agents to simply wave their phone around a room, and the technology automatically gathers the information for listing the property on LifeandHomes.

The tool uses technology similar to the artificial intelligence and logic system built into self-driving cars where it recognizes the items and features in a room and assesses the space and translates that to text and images.

“It’s one of the coolest technologies I’ve seen in years,” said Robert Smith, Lic. Real Estate Broker of Listing Company CNY in Syracuse NY , “This will help properties get listed instantly and with more accurate information. I can’t wait to see what they do in phase two.”

Founder of LifeandHomes, David Lisi explained how surprised he was when he stepped back and discovered how few tech resources local, small town real estate agents have available to them. He found that most technology is built for agents in large cities who deal with high volume and the pricing, features and lack of support reflected it. But, as Lisi explained, “By introducing small town hospitality, local sales and support, we’ve been able to adapt to the needs of our local business people while providing modern and even cutting edge technologies.”

What’s next for LifeandHomes? Lisi says they will be rolling out more advertising and marketing features geared toward helping local businesses thrive since they face similar technology challenges. LifeandHomes explained that their goal is to promote the best of local living to those who live in the community, and also to attract new residents who are looking for a simpler life.

“Life in a small town is all about balance. You rent your first home, buy your next, start your business and contribute to the community at every level. We embrace all of that so you can support your neighbors and community and appreciate what’s right here in your backyard.” said LifeandHomes owner, David Lisi.
